GEN 4  CHARGES FOR AERODROMES/HELIPORTS AND AIR NAVIGATION SERVICES

GEN 4.1 AERODROME/HELIPORT CHARGES

1  Landing charges for UK Aerodromes and Heliports are not established centrally and vary between Aerodrome Operators.
2  Landing of Aircraft
2.1 Charges are generally calculated on the Aircraft’s Maximum Total Weight Authorised (MTWA) in accordance with its Certificate of Airworthiness.
2.2 Additional Charges may be levied for:

  1. Parking, hangarage and storage of aircraft;

  2. passenger load supplements;

  3. security;

  4. noise related items.

3  Conditions Applicable to the Landing, Parking or Storage of Aircraft
3.1 The conditions under which aircraft may land, be parked, housed or otherwise dealt with, are governed by the Acts of Parliament in respect of certain aerodromes and are established by the aerodrome authority in respect of others.
3.1.1 In general, it is a condition that the Aerodrome Authority shall have a lien on the aircraft, its parts and accessories, for fees and charges which become due and payable, and shall be at liberty, subject to certain provisions, to sell, remove, destroy or otherwise dispose of the aircraft and any of its parts and accessories in order to satisfy any such lien.
3.1.2 To obtain the precise legal terms and conditions of use for any specific aerodrome, reference should be made to the appropriate authorities at that aerodrome.
